Burning Lament by Trisha Hanudel

A voice strangely empty
Something has been lost
A heart strangely numb
The ultimate cost

Eyes golden and warm
Flicker hope in the gray
Eyes of blue distance
There's always another way

Hands shaking, scared
It doesn't have to be like this
Breath broken and shallow
Hands into a fist

A clear moment, cry of doubt
Reassured by the fierce embrace
Empassioned graceful kiss
Yet sadness lines the face

Futile struggle to win
Souls broken, not bent
Time spent, never lost
His angel's burning lament
