Ariesa by Ryan Muff

carve aspects kissed
(onyx eyes) (papaver mouth) (brine cheekbone)
(shaded earlobe)
into cumulus vapor passing the sun;
my love's laughing fire lines rewrite
the huge sleeping clouds' frowning.

drape you in the bluest miles of seas' currents,
highways of alien resonance shout your conjured movements
and dizzily eddy to liken your curves.
toppling waters seem to crash with envy
harboring you in their heart.

whisper the smells of you on a meek june breeze
disposed only to wander and perfume every encounter,
salmonberries and rosemary and twilight
and easily and moving and across me.
cloudbursts crouch on the horizon as we ascend your rosaleen stairs.

dark hours' squall ranks drum on the roof in rigid tempo
to humbly snake down windows.
in crocheted solacement i rise to you and sleep,
from the selenite dreams of your skin
silken grays and pinks role over the air and sweep us…
