RUSTLINGS of the WIND

Conspectuity Issue Spring 99
(ISSN 1524-7066)

Welcome to our Soul
They say that the eye is a portal to the soul. Our writings are reflections of our souls, flowing from deep within us in ebbs and tides to be scribbled on a scrap of paper in a moment of simple clarity - or absolute obscurity.

As you click and glance around this issue, know that what you are looking at is more than just a poem or a story, a collection of words. It's an expression of a soul; one you may find remarkable kinship to, or one you may find disturbingly alien; enjoy both.

Here is your connection to our collection of soul reflections.

Crossing The Water by Zen McCann
I believe things can happen that change your whole life. . .
I first saw her on the old railroad bridge south of town when I was fourteen. Coming back from fishing the muddy river I took the wood planked walkway that paralleled the train tracks on the steel bridge.
She was standing midway across, hands resting on the rusty waist high railing. She watched silt choked water swirl slowly past feet below.
