the grass isn't green enough anymore
by Preston Holston
the grass isn't green enough anymore
the trees stopped dancing with the wind
the spiderwebs just look like deathtraps
and i finally have a closet all to myself

all the milk seems pleasantly past its due date
the ocean just gets salt water in my eyes
the dandelion seeds just procrastinate before falling
and finally there is enough hot water in the mornings

green is but blue fighting with yellow
smiles are but lazy facial muscles
the rain in Spring but a last chance for pneumonia
and i don't have to share my favorite pillow
