David Walters is the artist
father of the fantastical art on display throughout this issue.
He claims his art is born out of his reality, though he does not distinguish between
experienced and imagined reality. He presents to us a window to his world.
Inanimate objects gain life, in Mr. Walters' world. The mobile and immobile transpose, juxtapose, interpose, and he takes a snap-shot, catching the enchantment in his presented art. He uses photography to gather the "raw materials," then manipulates various images digitally and conventionally to create the splendid scenes you see. In addition to portraying his own world, David Walters' has also collaborated with artists Burnell Yow! and Lawrence Parkes. Their joint project, Exquisite Corpse, is a game in which each artist adds a quarter inch strip to the piece, or "corpse" if you will, then emails it to the next artist. Mr. Walters' work is currently being showed in several exhibits across Illinois. Be sure to visit David Walters' online gallery. | ||
