Roland Icking
This issue of Rustlings of the Wind proudly showcases several pieces by
German artist Roland Icking.
As you may have noticed, Mr. Icking's work often contains creative variations
on reality. His pencil drawing gallery presents impossible but truly
imaginative and inquisitive scenes. Each scene presents an odd world and
a thoughtful message, both worthy of exploring.
His painting gallery contains anatomical works that often explore perspective
and reality distortions. His messages are focused, leaving vague impressions
in place of irrelevant details. His flat hands and feet piece completely
mesmerizes me.
A native of Borken, West-Germany, Mr. Icking has been studying painting and
graphics at the Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna since 1999.
If you enjoy Mr. Icking's art as we do, write a response to one of his pieces
in our Picture Poetry game.
