Magda Francot
We are proud to be showcasing selected paintings by Magda Francot in
this issue of Rustlings of the Wind.
Ms. Francot's work is thought-provoking, rife with suggestions and
symbolisms. Her realistic capturing of fantastical moments draws the
viewer in to share the depicted event. While some may glance at some
of her work and think, "How morose," others will be captured by the
depth of emotion her work exhibits.
The range of her technique manifests itself in many of her pieces,
combining foreground details with background layerings and
suggestions. Likewise, the range of scenes Ms. Francot expertly
presents, from commissioned portraits to choreographed scenes to
distant landscapes, bears its own proclamation to her skill and
imagination.
Ms. Francot has won many awards, including the "Lazarus Prize", and
first prize of "Prize E. van Mieghem". Her work has been published in
a number of magazines and newspapers, and has been exhibited
throughout Belgium and France.
Magda Francot is a native of Antwerp, Belgium, where she lives with
her husband Architect Hug Francot. In addition to her own painting,
she also teaches others to find their own paintings at her art
school, and she restores old paintings.
